I joined Thrive as I love the values that we stand and fight for. I wanted to be part of a forward-thinking team, where the wellbeing of each member genuinely matters. Everyone is appreciated and respected as an individual, not a number; We are all totally committed to supporting each other, and to helping the team to grow and develop. The thrive team provide me with the support and flexibility to balance my work life along with my personal life and raising my daughter. At Thrive, you don’t have to make a choice of prioritising your career or your family; you can honestly have it all
Jo Rowland
Operations Manager
About:
Jo started working in the Learning and Development arena in 2000 whilst working for a charity alongside the Army in Germany, during that 10-year period Jo achieved many Learning and development qualifications including a Masters Degree in Educational Learning and Development. She loved developing new qualifications and enabling staff to deliver them The clients were from diverse backgrounds and therefore the learning and development needed to be tailored to their needs. This is where her operational management came to the fore as she had staff in learning centers across Germany.
Moving back To England in 2010 Jo was lucky enough to work for the Charity YMCA Training as their Operations Manager for the North of England, looking after 150 staff and managing multi-million-pound budgets. This still enabled her to use her teaching and development knowledge to support her team and the learners/clients. Following a takeover, Jo moved into her own business, which pulled on her operational and project management skills.
After 8 years in this field, Jo felt it was time to give something back, and working for Thrive would allow her to do that. Their culture and ethos meant that Jo could continue work in operations and learning and development and share her skill and knowledge in a different arena. She will be able to help deliver training as well as support the staff development. She loves what Thrive stands for and the way it has helped and educated so many people over the last 4 years.
