Trade Unions and Industrial Action

Trade unions (and staff councils) play a pivotal role in the employment relationship, particularly where they are formally recognised.

At Thrive, we support employers with their interactions with trade unions and staff councils, whether in relation to consultation processes, applications for recognition or industrial action disputes.  Our Team members have significant experience in advising local authorities, schools and police forces, all of which are heavily unionised.

We believe that employers are best served by building constructive relationships with those people who represent their staff and we advocate a collaborative and open approach between the two groups.

We can support an employer with navigating collective consultation in a large redundancy or TUPE process, but can also advise on defending threats of industrial action where matters have descended beyond conversation.
