THE WHAT:

The Safe Work, Safe Minds campaign is the brain child of Jodie Hill – Founder and Managing Director of Thrive Law. She had a breakdown from workplace stress, but the law gave no protection. Thousands face the same. Read more about Jodie’s story here.

We’re calling on the Government to reform the Health & Safety Act to include psychosocial risks and give mental health equal protection to physical health at work.

 

THE WHY:

Mental ill-health costs the UK £56bn each year, with over 50% of work-related illness linked to stress, anxiety, or depression.

Yet outdated laws focus only on physical risks, leaving employees exposed to burnout, bullying, and toxic cultures. Protecting mental health is not just good practice – it is a moral, economic, and legal imperative.

Other countries, like Australia and Brazil, have already acted. The UK must not fall behind. Stronger laws will save lives, protect workers, and support business growth.

We’re calling on the Government to update the Health & Safety at Work Act so mental health has equal protection.

We need 10,000 signatures for a Government response, and 100,000 within 6 months for a Parliamentary debate
